FORMULA: H3 [PMo12O40] • H2O (x

| DESCRIPTION |
|
Phosphomolybdic Acid, also called Molybdophosphoric Acid, is a yellow
crystalline solid of very high solubility in water and several oxygenated
solvents. There are a number of salts of the phosphomolybdic acid. This
heteropoly acid is tribasic and has a tendency to undergo some hydrolytic
degradation. NMR evidence has shown that the three protons in the
heteropoly anion are present as H30+ ions.
